In contrast to conventional AI systems, which are generally used for clearly defined and nar-rowly defined tasks, generative AI (GenAI) is characterised by its flexibility and versatility in content creation. The technology is able to generate new, coherent and often surprising content from the information available to it. Expectations are understandably high and, in some cases, entirely unrealistic. So what does the new year hold for the world of generative AI?

Positive shopping experiences stick, meaning that customers become accustomed to them and expect them from all providers. Most companies are aware of this: according to a study by adesso, 95 percent want to invest in improving digital customer experiences over the next few years in order to retain or expand their customer base. Until now, many companies have often lacked the technological know-how for this and often lacked an accompanying customer centricity strategy. So far, only every second company has one.

Digital data spaces and data ecosystems are key to the development of resilient data-driven processes, from research and development to logistics and supply chain management. As a consortium partner in the “HealthTrack-X” project funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK), IT service provider adesso is developing a prototype data space for the healthcare sector that makes selected data available quickly and securely.
